Copy an Asset

Copy creates an identical duplicate of an object in any Management Domain within your viewable Management Domain hierarchy. The duplicate asset retains its name unless another asset with exactly the same name exists in the destination Management Domain. If such a situation occurs the phrase “Copy of” is prefixed to the original name (multiple times if required).

Dell recommends that you change the name of any copy of an asset that you create, especially if the original name is lengthy. This avoids errors arising from exceeding the 64-character name limit.
