You can import devices from a CSV, TSV or XLS file located anywhere on the system running the SilverBack user interface. You can also create an import file on the fly within the user interface.
From either the Assets or Setup pages, click on the Import Devices link to display the Import Devices form.
Select the parent Management Domain from the drop-down.
Select the Credentials for the device(s) from the drop-down.
If you wish to specify a discovery timeout value, enter that value (in seconds) into the Max Timeout (Seconds) field.
If you wish to change the default syslog message encoding method, select a method from the Encoding drop-down.
If you wish to change the default pingable device requirement, uncheck the Target Must be Pingable checkbox.
To browse for an import file, click on the Browse button.
To create an import file within the form, enter the text in the Import Text field.
If you make a mistake and wish to start again, click on the Clear button.
To save your work and begin the discovery process, click on the Add button.
Or, click on the Cancel button to abandon the operation.
