Make an Object Visible or Invisible

You may wish to make objects visible or invisible to subdomains for any number of reasons, including:

• Providing end user customers with information about how you are monitoring their environments

• Enabling your customers to create Monitoring Policies referencing a Monitoring Policy Template you have created

• Hiding global Monitoring Policies, Groups, Privilege Groups, etc., in higher-level Management Domains from users

This topic describes the following procedures:

• Make Visible To Subdomains - Makes objects visible to users in lower level Management Domains.

• Make Invisible To Subdomains - Makes objects invisible to users in lower level Management Domains.

To Make an Object Visible

1. Navigate to the object's home report (for example, the Groups report).

If You Are Making Multiple Objects Visible

1. Ctrl-click to select the objects that you wish to make visible.

2. Select the More > Make Visible to Subdomains option.

The display refreshes to the objects' home report, and displays their new visibility statuses.

If You Are Making a Single Object Visible

1. Click on the object that you wish to make visible, then select the More > Make Visible to Subdomains option.

The display refreshes to the object's home report, and displays its new visibility status.

To Make an Object Invisible

1. Navigate to the object's home report (for example, the Groups report).

If You Are Making Multiple Objects Invisible

1. Ctrl-click to select the objects that you wish to make invisible.

2. Select the More > Make Invisible to Subdomains option.

The display refreshes to the objects' home report, and displays their new visibility statuses.

If You Are Making a Single Object Invisible

1. Click on the object that you wish to make invisible, then select More > Make Invisible to Subdomains option.

The display refreshes to the object's home report, and displays its new visibility status.
