Moving a Monitoring Policy or Policy Component into an unmanaged Management Domain will cause the Policy or Policy Component to be effectively unmanaged as well. In this case SilverBack will neither poll nor monitor using the Policy or Policy Component. |
Move is conceptually equivalent to a Copy and Delete of the original Monitoring Policy or Policy Component, except that all state information that was present in the original Management Domain is retained at the destination Management Domain. You can move one or multiple Monitoring Policies or Policy Components in a single operation.
You can move a Monitoring Policy or Policy Component to:
A higher-level Management Domain
A lower-level subdomain
A peer (same hierarchical level) Management Domain
Moving to a lower Management Domain enables you to delegate ownership. Users with the proper privileges in the lower Management Domain can now make changes to the Monitoring Policy or Policy Component, since it is now editable from their accounts.
From the Monitoring category page click on the Browse <object_type> link. For example, Browse Event Monitors. The selected object report appears.
Ctrl-click to select the objects that you wish to move.
Select the More > Move To option to display the Move form.
Click on the object that you wish to move, then select the More > Move To option to display the Move form.

Click on the domains tree selector to expand the view to subdomains.
Click on the radio button corresponding to the Management Domain to which you want to move the object.
Click the “+” boxes to expand the selection to subdomains.
Click on the OK button to save your changes.
Or, click on the Cancel button to abandon the operation without making any changes.
