Move an Asset

Move enables you to move assets between Management Domains, within a single SilverBack Managed Services Platform, so that discovered devices can be moved among end customer subdomains. The SilverStreak associated with the Management Domain which contains a moved asset will take over all polling requests.

You can move an asset to:

• A higher-level Management Domain

• A lower-level subdomain

• A peer (same hierarchical level) Management Domain

Moving to a lower Management Domain enables you to delegate ownership. Users with the proper privileges in the lower Management Domain can now make changes to the asset, since it is now editable from their accounts.

To Move an Asset

1. From the Assets category page click on the Browse <asset_type> link. For example, Browse Groups. The selected asset report appears.

If You are Moving Multiple Assets

1. Ctrl-click to select the objects that you wish to move.

2. Select the More > Move To option to display the Move form.

If You are Moving a Single Asset

1. Click on the Asset that you wish to move, then select the More > Move To option to display the Move form.

1. Click on the domains tree selector to expand the view to subdomains.

2. Click on the radio button corresponding to the Management Domain to which you want to move the asset.

1. Click the “+” boxes to expand the selection to subdomains.

3. Click on the OK button to save your changes.

1. Or, click on the Cancel button to abandon the operation without making any changes.
