Scheduled Recurring Rediscoveries

While you can always perform individual device rediscoveries on demand (see the Rediscover option in Assets Reports Actions), you can also schedule rediscoveries that occur:

• Only once, on a date and time that you define

• On a recurring schedule that you define

Scheduled rediscoveries provide critical asset change information that you can report upon, then present to your customers as validation of your asset management services. That information can also suggest further, revenue-generating services that you can sell.

To Schedule a Recurring Rediscovery

1. From the Assets category page click on the Schedule Recurring Rediscovery link to display the Schedule Recurring Rediscovery form.

2. Select the Schedule Recurrence radio button.

3. Specify recurrence as follows:

• Daily, at hh:mm AM or PM

• Weekly, on Day, every week at hh:mm AM or PM

• Monthly, on day XX of each month at hh:mm AM or PM

4. To limit the collected information to just newly-discovered systems information, leave the Asset Inventory Only checkbox selected.

   To collect information for all assets clear the checkbox.

5. If you make a mistake and wish to start again, click on the Reset button.

6. Click on the Save button to schedule the rediscovery.

1. Or, click on the Cancel button to abandon the operation.

7. To cancel a scheduled rediscovery, click on the Don't Schedule checkbox.
